Privacy Notice

This notice describes information that may be handled when a visitor uses Caroline County Released Inmates. It also explains why data is used, which outside services may receive it, and what choices a visitor may have. Using the site after a posted update means the current notice applies.

Information That May Be Collected

Different actions produce different data. A query entered in a sponsored search box passes to the third-party provider operating that tool. A message voluntarily sent through a contact route contains whatever the sender provides. Servers and service providers may also record technical data such as an IP address, browser type, device details, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate access time. Cookies or similar storage may remember preferences, measure use, support advertising, and help keep services working.

How Data Is Used

Collected information may be used to deliver requested site functions, reply to a message, understand general traffic, improve useful content, maintain security, diagnose faults, limit abuse, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests. Search queries are processed by the relevant search partner, not converted here into an official Caroline County record request.

Links and Advertising Systems

Official Pamunkey, VADOC, court, VINELink, BOP, and ICE pages have their own privacy rules. So do outside search and advertising services. Once a visitor follows a link or uses an embedded provider, that organization’s policy governs its collection. Some advertising partners may use their own tools to recognize activity across websites for measurement or interest-based ads.

Who May Receive Data

This site does not sell personal information as a direct data product. Information may still be processed by service providers needed to operate the site.

  • Search partners receive queries entered into their tools.
  • Analytics providers may process technical and usage data.
  • Advertising networks may serve and measure ads.
  • Hosting or security providers may process logs needed to run the service.
  • Law enforcement or another government body may receive information when a valid legal order requires disclosure.

Reasonable Security, Not a Guarantee

Standard administrative and technical safeguards are used where practical. No internet service, transmission path, or storage system is completely secure. The site therefore cannot promise that information will never be lost, accessed without permission, or exposed by a service failure.

Not Intended for Minors

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly seek personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor supplied information may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion where applicable.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on applicable law and the type of information held, a person may ask for access to personal data, correction of an error, deletion, or a limit on certain processing. Browser settings can also block or clear cookies, though some functions may work less well. Requests must contain enough detail to identify the data without exposing unnecessary sensitive information.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services, vendors, or legal duties change. A new version takes effect when posted here. Visitors should review the page from time to time if the way their information is handled matters to them.
